Hello parents, guardians and scholars!
It is move in weekend! I received the keys to my new house on Thursday night. It was a long road with a number of minor setbacks but it finally happened. We started moving all of the smaller things into our new house that would fit into our cars and over the weekend we have hired a truck to take all of our furniture over it.
Okay, now let’s take a look at this week’s plans:
Language Arts: We are continuing with Robin Hood. This week discuss the key details of the story with your scholar and their sequence.
Poetry: We've started memorizing our Norman and Saxon poem. We love how it aligns with our study of the middle ages and tells a story from a father to his son. Scholars will recite the poem by 12/13, giving them plenty of time to perfect it.
History: Our scholars have been doing a great job in class working on their research project. Many of them have finished the research portion and have moved on to writing the rough draft. These next few days we will continue learning about Eleanor of Aquitaine and her relationship with King Henry II.
Science: I am excited about this week in science. We will be learning about some of the extreme weather that happens daily around our world. If your child hasn't returned their water cycle comprehension corrections, they should be doing so this week. This is your scholar's chance to add in extra details to their original answer to show us they know all about the water cycle.
Math: As we continue studying fractions we will move to multiplication of a fraction by a whole number. There are so many real life applications to these concepts. Ask your child to make up some fraction word problems.
I hope you had a lovely weekend. I'm looking forward to a full week.
Warmly,
Bella O’Hara
