Q3, Week 6

Many of you know this is my first year at Archway Chandler.  I have an Education background, with 6 years in the classroom and many years homeschooling my own children.  I have three children, including a fourth grader in 4C.  My two older kids are at CPA in 9th and 7th grades.  To say my life is full and busy is quite an understatement.  Between school, sports and our other family activities, there seems to be very little down time.  I am sure this is true for your families as well.  Some weeks fly by and some weeks suddenly your seventh grader says she has a scale-model project due on Friday and also needs multiple practices for talent show auditions.

In January and February our whole family participates every Saturday in a flag football league run by a friend of ours.  Our kids play on teams with kids from a local children's home and this year I was asked to coach in an all girls' division.  "Oh, she must know a lot about flag football," you might be thinking.  No, absolutely nothing.  This was one of those opportunities I felt I should say yes to, well because I like to help and I love the idea of challenging myself (aka to suffer).  Both of my daughters are on my team as well as some of their friends (who know a lot about flag football).  We've had some wins and losses and a lot of fun and I still know very little about flag football.

Saturday, February 12th is the Fourth Grade's volunteer opportunity to help at Feed My Starving Children.  I will not be there due to football, but I hope you all enjoy the experience!  It is a fun way to do a service project together!

Thank you to all of you who have welcomed me into this community.  It is an absolute joy to work alongside Mr. Smith, who pursues excellence daily for the entire fourth grade.  I am also so grateful for our parent liaisons that keep all of our activities happening and our community fun!  Archway Chandler also has an awesome PSO who makes sure the teachers always feel appreciated!

This coming Wednesday, we will have a very fun Science experiement.  In order to make it possible, the grade level needs about 20 wide mouthed bottles and 15 poster boards.  If you are able to send any in for our grade level, we appreciate it very much!
