Friday, 4/10- Fourth Grade will be watching a 40-minute documentary culminating the events of April 18th and 19th, 1775 (the start of the American Revolution). Traditionally, the classes have a snack of popcorn while we watch the movie. We are asking for a donation of 2 Costco-sized bags and plastic or paper cups per class. Alternatively, it can also be individual sized popcorn bags for each scholar. Please reach out to the class parents or the Lead teacher if you can donate to the movie time.

4/16- Chapter 10 Math Test and Blue book completed, corrected and graded.

The Fourth Grade will perform Paul Revere's Ride on 4/23 at 10am in the MPR.  Please make sure to arrive early enough to check-in and make sure you are Raptor Cleared.

Thursday, April 9th is the AASA ELA and Math part 1.  Please ensure scholars are fed, rested and present.  There is no hw the night prior to testing.

  In the COMPOSITION program for the week we will finish items from W3 including writing a graded summary on The Bride of Allan-a-Dale. We will also work on AASA practice ELA passages.

 In GRAMMAR, we will utilize the time to work on reviewing grammar elements like superlative adjectives, using a dictionary skills, linking verbs, and comma splices.  We will resume in our WOL books after the AASA testing period.

 In LATIN AND GREEK ROOTS we have 2 roots this week, the test is Friday, April 12th:

Math:

In Math, we will finish Domain 3 and work on finishing the Green and Blue book sections of Chapter 10. The Chapter 10 test is on Thursday, April 16th.

 Students may review 4th Grade Math concepts on Khan Academy.

All scholars should be studying Math Facts nightly for 10-15 minutes, especially division.

History:

In History in W4 we review Monday and take a Comprehension Check on Tuesday for the prompt- What events led to the colonists' quarrel with Great Britain? Use chapters 6-8 and folds to review. Then scholars will read the textbook chapter 10 in class.   

In Q4, scholars will take a deeper look at the "Big Question" at the beginning of each chapter.  They will create notecards for each chapter with the "BQ" and notes with the section headings.  This is to help prepare scholars for the nightly "BQ" homework assignments in Fifth Grade.

 Scholars will continue to look at the structures of the heart and circulatory system. Wednesday scholars will demonstrate their understanding of how blood moves through the body, the functions of the cardiovascular system and the components and functions of blood. Scholars should use spiral notes and textbooks chapters 4-6 for review.
