11/14/2020

More nice weather!  This is why we live in Arizona.  I will be at the soccer games of 2 of my grandsons early Saturday morning.  Then it will be a day of preparing for end of second quarter evaluations and prepping for teaching for the week.  I think I will try to do that out on the patio and soak in the lovely weather.  On Sunday after church we will be celebrating our family’s three November birthdays.  Again, we will be outside.  That will conclude the family birthdays for 2020.

Let’s look at a few upcoming events.  Our Robin Hood party will be in December.  If you are wanting to help with preparations contact your child’s teacher.  There are things that could be prepared at home.

Week of November 16:

Monday, Nov. 16 we will start the day with Galileo testing.  Please have your children at school on time or early, rested, and having had a good breakfast. Distance learners look for an e-mail for information on how to proceed.  It will be just as we did before.

Language Arts:  Students will finalize their Robin Hood five paragraph essay.  In grammar we will learn about simple and complete subjects, the not adverb, and review verbs.  Our next grammar test will be next Tuesday, Nov. 24th.

Math:  We will continue our study of fractions.  Any manipulatives you have at home to drive home the concept of fractions during homework times would be very helpful for your child.  Students need to nightly study their math facts for at least 5 minutes.  We are currently doing division facts.  The Unit 3 Fractions test is this Friday, Nov. 20th.

Science:  We will continue with our study of meteorology concentrating on air pressure and density, the layers of the atmosphere, and how the Earth’s surface is heated.  We will do this by looking at the sun’s scattered, reflected and absorbed heat/light.

History:  We will look into the lives of some famous people from the medieval times – William the Conqueror and Henry II, and learn about heraldry.

Have a great week-end spending time with your precious children.  They are such a blessing to us.

Warmly,

Mrs. Kielmeyer
