Hi Fourth Grade Families,
We hope you've enjoyed your rainy weekend weather.
Here's what we're looking forward to in Week 8 of Q2.
Wednesday is the Winter Concert. Fourth graders have their concert at 6:30pm. Classrooms open to have students wait and line up at 6:10pm. Please do not leave your child unattended outside the main doors. After the performance you will be able to take your child home. The fifth grade is performing at 7pm, so you will need to take your child out of the gym if you are not staying. There is no homework on Wednesday night.
There are Comprehension Checks in both Science and History this week. Wednesday, scholars will answer, "What is weather, climate and why is weather always changing?" They should use their green spiral notes to study and should write a practice comprehension check in preparation. On Friday, students will take the History Comprehension Check explaining "How did the Hundred Years' War and the Black Death bring about the end of the Middle Ages." Students should use their History books and in-class notes to study. Writing a practice comprehension check is suggested.
Curricular Focus:
Math: We will continue our Chapter 6 study of Improper Fractions and Mixed Numbers.
Science: Scholars will examine the difference between weather and climate and prepare for Wednesday's Comprehension Check.
