Q4W10
Dear 4th Grade Families,
This is it! The final week dawns on us, with it placing the fourth grade year firmly into its shadow. The students should be just about finished with graded content and are left to enjoy their final week as well as do some last minute learning. They have made it to the end and should be proud of everything they have achieved. This year was a tough one that demands a lot of growth, but the scholars proved themselves up to the challenge. I really am going to miss this group, but cannot be sad as they are moving onto bigger and better. Or at least I’m trying to convince myself that I can’t. Thank you for such a wonderful year! --Mr. Smith, for the Fourth Grade.
Do not forget to celebrate your children and all their accomplishments this school year! They've worked so hard and had so many amazing moments!-- Mrs. Heisler
News:
Books! Books! Books! Calling all books! Parents! Please check your child's room and home libraries for any books belonging to the school or classroom. In addition, if your family is finished with any books, please consider donating them to the classroom library. Have your child write a special inscription to their teacher. If you find books belonging to teachers past, don't be embarrassed, just return them! I myself found many previous teacher's books in my child's closet!
Half Days 5/20-5/23. Everyday this week is a half day except Monday.
Carry On, Mr. Bowditch Party on May 22nd. This is our end of year party celebrating all that the fourth graders have overcome with a fun nautical theme to spice it up.
Carry On Mr. Bowditch Party: Thank you to everyone who has already donated to the Mr. Bowditch Party. We are still in need of donations to cover the cost of the party. If you are able to donate, please send money via Venmo to @LisaDeLong7 (last four of cell is 2314) or email Lisapdelong@gmail.com to coordinate cash.

In LITERATURE we will finish Carry On, Mr. Bowditch.
For our POETRY, we are officially finished unless your student has not recited "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Goodnight".
In WWE, we are officially finished after we write letters to our fifth grade teachers and next year's fourth graders. Scholars are also not finished if they have not submitted the final draft of their essay.
In LATIN AND GREEK ROOTS, we are officially finished.
For PHILOSOPHY, we will discuss what lies ahead in fifth grade. What are the students looking forward to? What are they nervous about?
Math:
In math, we are finishing our year with an area and perimeter pet paradise project.

In history, we will learn about amendments in our constitution in a fun, self-motivated mini-project that results in a presentation of the student’s choosing. Students will need to submit their lap books if they have not.
