Dear 4th grade families,
Your child has been working very hard this semester and we are so proud of their accomplishments and growth mindset during these unprecedented times. We have one week to go in this quarter and here is an overview.
Dec 14-18
Language Arts: AZ Merit practice continues this week as well as diagramming for Grammar. There are no Latin/Greek Roots. Students will need the Harp and Laurel Wreath book for our poetry unit when they return in Q3. The kids did a fantastic job with their "Norman and Saxon" recitations! They will receive a copy of "Paul Revere's Ride" before the break, in case they want to get started with that one. We will memorize one stanza each week in quarter 3.
Science:. Students complete the meteorology unit with a quiz on Tuesday.
Math: The unit 4 test is this Wednesday. On Thurs/Fri, scholars begin Unit 5.1 Measurements & Conversions.
History: Tuesday is a cumulative test covering all of the Middle Ages so far. Your children will explore Ancient China on Thursday and Friday.
Robin Hood Party is Wednesday (Dec 16th) Thanks to all for contributing your time, talents and treasures. A special SHOUT OUT goes to Rebecca Thompson for organizing, donating and prepping for this celebration. In addition, our wonderful fourth grade class parents are to be recognized and thanked: Joong Nguyen, Daisy Cheung, Shelly DalMolin and Amy Hartranft! Volunteers need NEW approval for 2020-21. This includes people with previously issued/non-expired Great Hearts badges. The application is online. Please note, when selecting the school, it will not differentiate between Archway Chandler and Chandler Preparatory Academy, it will simply state Great Hearts Chandler. The system will approve you for both schools. The cost is $5.00 per application per school year. Additional information may be found in this FAQ, or feel free to reach out to the Front Office with questions or concerns.
Thursday and Friday are On-Line (Dec 17th & 18th) Everyone will use their OLD Google Classrooms like they did after Thanksgiving break. If your child needs a safe place to attend online classes at this time, contact Miss Pyper.
